An enthusiastic group challenged the chilly and breezy morning, although the wind did lighten up somewhat toward the end of the series.
A collision dismasted Roger Smith, and a failed jib boom swivel dismasted the winner, Joe Murr before the start of the 7th race. Quite the throwout! Rich had battery failure before the 7th race started. So the two leaders couldn’t get off the blocks.
Joe and Rich battled every race, with the two in a tie on points. Joe had one more first place finish than Rich, so took home the Blue Ribbon.
Special thanks to our frozen scorekeeper, JoAnn, and to Carl for telescopic line duties.

A beautiful day with variable winds from the North greeted 6 sailors. The racing was preceded by several fly-bys of the USAF Thunderbirds practicing for their opening tomorrow at the Daytona 500. Joe Murr made sure we were noticed with a large American flag mounted on the dock. The variable and light winds made for some interesting maneuvering, but at the end of the day, Al Strout took the honors followed by Bob Brown. Thanks to Joe, JoAnn and Carl for scoring and linekeeping duties.

A beautiful sunny day found 13 sailors on the pond to tackle light and variable winds, certainly requiring the best of our intrepid group. Fleet captain Jeff Trescot laid out the best course possible for the winds. New member Robert Brown (yes we now have two!) persevered to take the honors, followed by Don Fye and Bob Rupp. Consistency and concentration was the key as the fickle winds provoked frustration.

Thanks to all for hanging in there.

Nine hardy sailors arrived at the pond to find cloudy skies, a damp 65 degree temperature and a light breeze from the NW. Fleet Captain Bob Brown picked a challenging triangular course that saw many lead changes, interesting upwind tactics and way too much socializing at #5, our favorite windward mark. When the dust settled, Ken took home the blue ribbon, with Al Strout and Bob Brown only a few points behind. Thanks to JoAnn & Carl for score keeping & line duties.
